OUR PROCESS

A growing artist’s need for more printmaking space within an existing unfinished basement defined the design challenge of this project.  While the artist needed to renovate this space to accommodate his professional needs, the desire to preserve some family memories etched into the surfaces was part of our client’s vision.  A simple steel column layered with growth markers and dates, doodles, and stories - an artifact of his family’s history - became the centerpiece to our client’s artistic space, celebrating the narrative of his creative experience.
